What is Krav Maga Self Defense?

Krav Maga is the most effective real-world system taught today.

Defined by brutal offensive techniques and quick counter-attacks, Krav Maga is the ideal self-defense fighting style for unexpected and dangerous situations. A focus on results without rules of fair fighting means Krav Maga is not a martial art, but a revolutionary self-defense system— no katas, no rituals.

Based on simple principles and instinctive movements, our Krav Maga self-defense classes are intended to teach methods exceptionally effective for personal protection in the shortest possible time. Attend our Krav Maga classes to learn how to defend against violent chokes, grabs, and strikes, as well as serious threats armed with weapons.

Krav Maga Levels

+ Level 1

Level one is designed for new Krav Maga students. The goal of this entry-level classes is to teach the basics of fighting and self-defense. Students will learn various fighting stances and movements, including punches and kicks from standing position, as well as from the ground. Trainees will be introduced to effective elbow and knee strikes, and shown how to defend against punches, chokes, headlocks, and wrist grabs. Students training an average of two or three times per week should expect to complete the level one Krav Maga self-defense curriculum in three - four months (minimum 30 hours), and be ready to test for KM Level 2.

+ Level 2

At level 2, intermediate self-defense course, students will continue to review and hone skills learned in KM level 1. Third level Krav Maga self-defense classes sharpen basic techniques and allow students to further expand their foundation of Krav Maga attacks and defenses. Students will continue to refine strikes, defenses against strikes, and more advanced self-defense techniques involving defense against weapons such as guns and sticks. Students training two to three times per week can expect to be eligible to test for the fourth level in nine - twelve (minimum 80 hours) months.

This comprehensive grappling class combines Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, wrestling, takedowns, and ground striking to prepare students for real-life encounters, including when the fight goes to the ground. Keeping with the Krav Maga mindset to go home safe, emphasis will be given to maintaining mobility and dominate positions, while also covering chokes, joint manipulations, striking from the ground and exiting safely.
